Chaparral is looking for its sixth win of the season, as the Cowboys travel to Jeff Keel Field & Stadium to face Moapa Valley (4-1), who is 2-0 at home.

“We haven’t beat Moapa Valley in a while, so I would love to change more history and get a banner this year,” said Chaparral running back and safety Tyray Collins. “Studying every play closely and looking for mistakes and their weaknesses.”

Chaparral lost to Moapa Valley in the past six meetings. Moapa Valley won in a high-scoring affair last season 53-40.

When: Friday, Oct. 6, 7 p.m.

About the Cowboys: Tyray Collins rushed for 519 yards yards nine touchdowns and caught six passes for 140 yards and two touchdowns. He also has three interceptions with one returned for a touchdown. Collins sits third in 3A in rushing. Quarterback: Iopu “Joe” Tauli’ili completed 53 percent of his passes for 246 yards and three touchdowns.

About the Pirates: Daxton Longman leads the Pirates with 844 yards and four touchdowns. Logan Jackson rushed for 331 yards with five touchdowns. Leo Rios leads the team in tackles with 60.
